Poor water pressure

Your water authority supplies your water which they maintain to your external stop tap at the highway’s boundary. However, your water pressure can be significantly reduced by the time it enters your home and it’s worth noting there could be several reasons for this in addition to a leak.
Low water pressure can also have a drastic effect on both combination boiler systems and electric showers both, of which will not function correctly if the incoming pressure is low.

Do you have a shared water supply?

In many houses, the problem of poor supply can be caused by sharing a supply pipe from the mains with neighbouring houses. This can often be noticeable at certain times of the day when properties sharing the supply are drawing water meaning your supply may be high at times then have a drop in pressure at other times.

Corrosion of Pipes

It may be your underground water pipe is iron which is highly corroded inside preventing a good flow of water.

Pipe Diameter

In many cases the internal bore of pipes is simply not large enough to provide the property with a good flow of water. This is common if the underground pipe work is copper or lead and can be a problem with longer supplies.
